Bizard Izland : Two sixties killed, their son arrested

The Service de police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM) confirmed early Thursday that the 65-year-old woman and the 60-year-old man were victims of murder. A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody.
Police said the two killings were carried out during a family dispute, but the suspect’s exact connection to the two victims had not been confirmed as of Thursday. According to our information, however, it would be the son of the victims.
He is to be questioned later in the day by investigators from the SPVM’s major crimes squad. The police were informed around 9:30 p.m. of the presence of two lifeless bodies in the residence located on Avenue des Érables, in the northeast of Île Bizard, near the banks of the Rivière des Prairies. Upon arrival, officers found both bodies unresponsive; the deaths were confirmed shortly after by a doctor from Urgences-santé. A security perimeter has been established near the house.
According to the land records, the owners of the residence where the double murder took place were Wayne Arnott and Louise Boucher. It would be the two victims, according to our information. The required circumstances of the suspect’s arrest were not yet available early Thursday morning. A neighbor, Jo Wafer, says she didn’t hear anything Wednesday night.
“It was a quiet world, you never heard anything,” she explains, adding that she didn’t really know them. These two homicides mean that since the beginning of the current year, 31 murders have been committed on the territory patrolled by the SPVM.
